Our Return Policy

If you are unhappy with your purchase, we don't want you to have to keep it.  If we made a mistake or if the fabric is defective, then we'll pay for the expense to return the fabric, and we'll send a replacement or process a refund right away.

Sometimes you might receive a piece of fabric that is what you ordered and isn't defective, but you find it doesn't look right in your living room or on you or on your daughter, and you'd like to return it.  In many cases the online listing for the fabric you bought may have been removed or it might be hard for us to sell the particular length that you ordered.  A large percentage of our expense is the labor of pulling the bolts and measuring the fabric, putting it away and restocking it.  Therefore, for both our in-store and online customers, there is a 30% restocking charge and cutting fee for returns of cut fabric yardage of one yard or more.  We do not accept returns from online customers of fabric yardage of less than one yard.  Returned fabric must be in new condition:  Yardage altered in any way - cutting, washing, etc - will not be accepted and no return will be made for such returns.

For those who are not sure about a particular fabric, we are always happy to send you a swatch to preview before you buy.  Swatching prevents most fabric returns, as you get to see the color and texture of the fabric in person before you order yardage.  Click here to learn more about our Swatch Service.

We do not guarantee or accept returns on:  Fabric cuts less than one yard, swatch packets, patterns, books, magazines, opened computer software, or DVDs.   A 30% restocking fee will be applied to all accepted returned merchandise.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return your merchandise within 30 days of receiving your order. Before sending the return product back to us, contact Stonemountain & Daughter at 1-866-4SEW-FUN before returning merchandise. If the return is a result of defect, damage, or our error, you will receive a 100% credit for the merchandise and shipping fees. If returning unwanted items, the customer is responsible for the shipping cost from the original order as well as a 30% restocking fee on the unwanted items.

Products must be in new condition and in their original packaging.  Upon receipt of your return, it may take 5 business days to process and credit your account. Credit will be processed against your original form of payment.

Shipping Policy for Returned Items:
  • Stonemountainfabric.com will pay for the shipping fee associated with authorized returns. Authorized returns must be within the 30 day guarantee period. Please call 1-866-4SEW-FUN or contact us to ensure that your return has been properly authorized. Please note that the original shipping charge is non-refundable.

With that in mind, we present to you the fine print:

  • Your satisfaction is important to us and we realize that there may be circumstances in which you need to return an item. While cut fabric is essentially a custom product and a challenge to guarantee, we do provide any customer who is dissatisfied with a purchase a refund or store credit on fabric cuts of one yard or more. 
  • We cannot give refunds on custom cuts of fabric that measure less than one yard.
  • We do not accept returns on:  Fabric cuts less than one yard, patterns, books, magazines, opened computer software, or DVDs.
  • All returned items must be in original, unflawed condition, unmarked and uncut and UNWASHED by the purchaser, and must be received within 30 days of date of shipment.
  • A 30% restocking fee applies to all returns.
  • Unless we are in error, we do not refund shipping costs.
  • Items returned to us in non-salable condition will be returned to sender, and no refund will be given.
  • All Customers: Upon receiving your order, please examine material carefully for color, quality, and yardage.
  • Despite our best efforts, we are not responsible for typographical errors. In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or product information received from our suppliers, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.
  • All pricing is valid only on orders placed through the website.  Pricing in store may vary.
