For over 30 years Stonemountain & Daughter has featured high quality cotton, silk, linen, rayon, wool, faux fur, and many designer fabrics from Italy. Come in and get inspired! Design your quilt off of a color, a print theme, even retro fabrics. We have all sorts of prints: stripes, dots, flowers, animals, fruits, veggies, space, cowboys, holiday, you name it - we've got it! Our buttons are so vast and our collections have been added to over many years. You won't find so many high quality buttons to choose from in one place - they average $1.50 a button and range in price from 50 cents to $14. Our buttons are all sorts of sizes, shapes, and materials - as you complete your projects - bring them in to the store to lay out on our counter and try out different possibilities.. Some of our buttons are really works of art - our customers have used them as everything from the center of gorgeous pins with feathers and gems to a beautiful rhinestone accent on a white faux fur wedding shawl...Let our buttons inspire you!
For over 15 years, our sewing school has taught students of all ages and levels to sew and quilt. This summer we taught over 150 kids to sew in our workshops! It is one of the services that helps make Stonemountain & Daughter one of the finest stores in our country.
Many of our teachers have written their own sewing books and write articles for Threads magazine. Many who teach at local colleges in the area got their start or still teach at Stonemountain. Our teachers are very skilled and want to pass on their skills to you!
We offer classes running from Beginner classes that introduce you to the world of sewing to Sewing Technique classes that broaden and improve your skills. For advanced seamsters we have an array of Fitting and Design classes in which you can learn to make a Block/Sloper or copy your favorite ready wear garment in your closet. Our hand Sewing classes get you hand sewing with accuracy and Our Quilting classes teach you everything from Paper Piecing to Crazy Quilting. Come by and pick up a brochure at our store and join our mailing list so you can pour over our offerings!
Our staff are knowledge seamsters and love to talk and help you with your projects. Our staff does everything from helping you get just the right fabric to offering pattern, interfacing, and quilting expertise to matching colors and helping you pick out just the right button that will make your project sing!
