Suzan's Helpful Hints

here is an answer to the clover bias tape maker question sent over by <mailto:ttrotto@ma.rr.com>ttrotto@ma.rr.com on 3/16:

Q: I want to use the 1" Clover bias tape maker to make 1/2" double fold bias tape.Ê How wide do the strips need to be cut?

A: Raw fabric strip width for the 1" bias tape maker is 1 7/8" to 2 1/8" depending on how heavy your fabric is.Ê I find that 2" is about right.

For all you bias tape makers out there who have lost your Clover package inserts, here are the recommendedÊ strip widths for various popular models of the Clover bias tape makers:

1/4" (6 mm): 1/2" to 5/8" strips
1/2" (12 mm): 1" to 1 1/8" strips
3/4" (18 mm): 1 3/8" to 1 5/8" strips
1" (25 mm): 1 7/8" to 2 1/8" strips
2" (50 mm): 3 7/8" strips
