If possible, start the binding in an inconspicuous
place. Pin in place for stitching. Always baste on
curves or angles.
On bulky fabrics, leave about 2 inches of the bias
strip unstitched at the starting point. Stitch around
the garment, and stop slightly before reaching the
starting point: cut bias strip, leaving about 2 inches.
Fold the garment so that the ends of strips can cross
each other at right angles. Stitch strips together
on grain close to the garment. Press seam open and
trim. Finish stitching binding to garment.
