How To Order From Us

We do everything we can to ensure that shopping with us is as simple and pleasant as possible.  However, we both know that a computer sometimes can have a mind of its own!  For help with your order, please call us at 1-866-4SEW-FUN or email us.  Phone calls are answered in person during the hours of 10 am - 6:30 pm Monday thru Friday, 10am - 6pm on Saturday and 11am - 5:30pm on Sunday.  All hours are Pacific Standard Time. 

How To Place An Order: is a 100% secure encrypted on-line shopping environment. To purchase products, simply click on the product category on the left to find the products you are interested in. Click through until you see only the product you are interested in - this screen will display a "buy now" button.  Enter the quantity you would like into the quantity field and then click the "Add to Cart" button. Note that, for cut yardage, you can order in whole or 1⁄2 yard increments. Also note that we sell swatches for most of the fabrics that we offer. You can order a swatch of a fabric by clicking on the "Order Swatch" link or icon associated with the fabric you are interested in. If you do not see this swatch icon , a swatch is not available. Repeat this process until your shopping cart contains all of the products you want to purchase. Then, simply click on the "Check Out" button and follow the simple instructions that will walk you through the checkout process.

Backorders: While we always attempt to maintain a substantial in-stock quantity for all of our products, it is possible that we may have less in-stock quantity for a particular fabric than you want to order. If it is a reorderable fabric (meaning we can get more from our supplier), when you attempt to order a quantity greater than we have in-stock, you will see a note in the shopping cart advising you that the item will be backordered for you. We will NOT ship you what we have in stock and then ship the balance when it arrives, as dye-lot variations could cause you a problem. We will ship you the entire amount that you want for that item when it arrives. If you have ordered multiple items and some of them are immediately available from our inventory, we will call you to see what you would like to do.

Some of our fabrics are not reorderable as they are Special Purchases (we cannot get more from our supplier). Those products cannot be back ordered. In that case, you can decide whether the quantity we have in stock is adequate to meet your needs.

Sold Out Items: Our policy is to fill your order with any of the fabrics available.  We will notify you if an item is sold out, or if we do not have enough yardage to complete your request. 

Adjustments to Order: We are totally committed to delivering SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you place an order with us and decide later that day that you want to make a change to your order (you ordered 2 yards and later realize you need 3 yards, for example), contact our customer service department and let us know how we can help you. If your order has not already been processed, we are more than happy to assist with your request. If your order has already been processed, we will not be able to make any adjustments. Should that occur, we will be happy to assist you with placing an additional order. For planning purposes, you should assume that your order will be processed the first business day (Monday - Friday) after you place your order.

Our shipping costs are based on the amount of the order.  Please refer to the chart below.  Stonemountain & Daughter uses UPS and USPS to ship our orders.  Shipping and retturn policies are listed below the rate chart.  Please note that we are currently unable to ship internationally.

Your order is important!  We are committed to shipping your order within 2 working days (excluding weekends and holidays).  Actual delivery time will vary based on the number of days it takes UPS USPS to deliver to your particular address - in most cases you can expect your order in 7 to 10 business days when using UPS ground or USPS Parcel Select.  Please call 1-866-4SEW-FUN for availability of rush orders.

Express shipping may be available upon request.  To inquire about this service, please call 1-866-4SEW-FUN or contact us for available options, shipping times and rates.  Express shipping rates are based on the actual weight of the order, so we cannot quote exact charges to you until your order is prepared for shipment.  Charges for express shipment will be added to the total of your order prior to billing.

If you find there is a product you do not want, please contact us and we will assist you on the return of that merchandise. We encourage our customers to inspect the contents of the package(s) as soon as the order is delivered to ensure that you have plenty of time to take advantage of our 30-day money back guarantee. We will be unable to issue any type of refund after our 30-day guarantee has expired.

Upon receipt of your return it takes 3-7 business days to process your return and credit your account. The credit will be processed against the original form of payment. We will notify you via e-mail or phone once your return has been processed.
Free Return Shipping: will pay for the shipping fee associated with authorized returns. Authorized returns must be within the 30 day guarantee period. If you are unhappy with your purchase, we don't want you to have to keep it.  If we made a mistake or if the fabric is defective, then we'll pay for the expense to return the fabric, and we'll send a replacement or process a refund right away.

Sometimes you might receive a piece of fabric that is what you ordered and isn't defective, but you find it doesn't look right in your living room or on you or on your daughter, and you'd like to return it.  In many cases the online listing for the fabric you bought may have been removed or it might be hard for us to sell the particular length that you ordered.  A large percentage of our expense is the labor of pulling the bolts and measuring the fabric, putting it away and restocking it.  Therefore, for both our in-store and online customers, there is a 30% restocking charge and cutting fee for returns of cut fabric yardage of one yard or more.  We do not accept returns from online customers of fabric yardage of less than one yard.  Returned fabric must be in new condition:  Yardage altered in any way - cutting, washing, etc - will not be accepted and no return will be made for such returns.

For those who are not sure about a particular fabric, we are always happy to send you a swatch to preview before you buy.  Swatching prevents most fabric returns, as you get to see the color and texture of the fabric in person before you order yardage.  Click here to learn more about our Swatch Service.

We do not guarantee or accept returns on:  Fabric cuts less than one yard, swatch packets, patterns, books, magazines, opened computer software, or DVDs.   A 30% restocking fee will be applied to all accepted returned merchandise.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return your merchandise within 30 days of receiving your order. Before sending the return product back to us, contact Stonemountain & Daughter at 1-866-4SEW-FUN before returning merchandise. If the return is a result of defect, damage, or our error, you will receive a 100% credit for the merchandise and shipping fees. If returning unwanted items, the customer is responsible for the shipping cost from the original order as well as a 30% restocking fee on the unwanted items.

Products must be in new condition and in their original packaging.  Upon receipt of your return, it may take 5 business days to process and credit your account. Credit will be processed against your original form of payment.

  • Your satisfaction is important to us and we realize that there may be circumstances in which you need to return an item. While cut fabric is essentially a custom product and a challenge to guarantee, we do provide any customer who is dissatisfied with a purchase a refund or store credit on fabric cuts of one yard or more. 
  • We cannot give refunds on custom cuts of fabric that measure less than one yard.
  • We do not accept returns on:  Fabric cuts less than one yard, patterns, books, magazines, opened computer software, or DVDs.
  • All returned items must be in original, unflawed condition, unmarked and uncut and UNWASHED by the purchaser, and must be received within 30 days of date of shipment.
  • A 30% restocking fee applies to all returns.
  • Unless we are in error, we do not refund shipping costs.
  • Items returned to us in non-salable condition will be returned to sender, and no refund will be given.
  • All Customers: Upon receiving your order, please examine material carefully for color, quality, and yardage.
  • Despite our best efforts, we are not responsible for typographical errors. In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or product information received from our suppliers, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.
