Explore the process of practicing and playing with fabric and create an improvisational quilt!

Learn to improvise a background patchwork that leaves visual space for an additional "melody" to move across the quilt surface.

Each student comes away with a quilt designed with horizontal and vertical "visual rhythm."

Learn to transfer a design to your quilt; work in hand-quilted touches; add a design to your quilt top; and know which thread and batting to use. The hand quilting stitch is the fundamental quilting stitch and requires a full demo and in-class practice!

Cost: $ 40.00
Make many types of blocks using strings and understand how to put all those blocks together to make your own unique quilt.

The class will include instruction for how to enlarge or decrease the sizes of the squares and triangles. Students will gain practice on the use of color, how color changes according to what it is placed next to and how to make many different patterns from just two simple shapes.

Learn how to back or prepare these non-traditional fabrics so that they can be used in quilts or wall hangings.
