We are well-known for our knowledgeable and friendly staff. Every member of our team has an area of sewing expertise. Some are quilters, others focus on garment sewing or home decor. Whether you have a question about repairing a busted zipper or you're figuring out what fabric to use on the back of your quilt, we try our best to help YOU. We often tell people that we're a hardware store for fabric and in a way, that's true!

Meet Victoria
From hand-sewing a pillow at age 5 or 6 to making stunning silk blouses, Victoria is one of our most talented staff. Her favorite fabric to sew with is silk organza: "I don't sew with silk organza super frequently but I'm attracted to it," she says. Currently she's really into sewing jumpsuits and one-piece outfits, which you'll see her wearing at the store from time to time. She recommends the book The Art of Manipulating Fabric as her favorite sewing resource.

| Meet Kathleen
Kathleen has been with us for fourteen wonderful years! She
started sewing at age 6 or 7, making place mats and burlap crafts for
fun. Eventually she graduated to making a corduroy pleated skirt.
Taught to sew by her mom and a grandmother who worked at a woolen mill,
Kathleen soon learned to sew clothing for herself. Hence, her sewing
specialty is making simple and elegant clothing to wear every day. Many
of her pieces are made with Linen, her favorite fiber. She loves using
twin needles and bias tape makers. When not at the store, you can find
her in a garden or dreaming of the Hamptons and Berkshires where she
grew up. Come by and pay a visit to Kathleen and the rest of our
